Stanley loved his wife and family very much and spend as much time with them as he could. He had a love of nature and living in a partial wooded area, he was able to watch the turkeys, deer, and other creations of God. He also like the companionship of three family cats: Chip, Maggie, and Patches. He loved home gardening and would often share his vegetables with family, neighbors, and friends.
He always had a pleasant smile for other and was willing to reach out and help them in any way he could. He was truly a good servant of God. As a devout Christian, he was always active in the community and in the churches. He was a member and served with the Snow Shoe Ambulance for many years.
In his younger years, he was active in the Moshannon and Clarence United Methodist Churches, serving as Lay Leader and Treasurer. He was also active in helping with the youth group and Sunday School programs. Later he became very active in the Mt. Top Christian and Missionary Church by helping it to get established in the community. He opened his recreation room in his home, for services before the church was built.
He served faithfully as an elder, Sunday School Teacher, Treasurer, Usher, and head of the outdoor maintenance and lawncare of the Mt. Top CMA Church for many years.
As a child, he was playful
As a teen, he was daring,
In manhood, he became
Loving and caring.
In the mellow years,
He looked to the Heavens above
To see bright rainbows and sunsets
And the starry sky the God placed there in love
And now as we place him
Beneath the green sod,
We know he is there
In the sweet arms of his God.
